Nepal had just over 23 million people at the last census

     (2001) and this number is increasing at the rapid rate 2.45% annually.Over 1.5 million people live in the Kathmandu valley,700000 of them in Kathmandu .Nepal remain predominantly rural 85% of people live in the country side over 50% of Nepal's population live in the flat fertile lands of the Terai and the population here is increasing rapidly.
